This semester, we are moving away from the cluttered, often distracting interface of traditional institutional platforms in favor of this Knowledge Portal. I have built this site using an open-source framework called Quartz to solve two specific problems: information overload and digital privacy. Unlike standard Learning Management Systems that track your every click and monetize user data, this site is what’s known as a Static Site. It does not track your activity, it doesn’t require a login to view public materials, and it exists independently of the commercial data-harvesting ecosystem.

I am using a single website for all of my courses. Your syllabi will be here, as well as assignments, class notes, readings, and any other important material. You will also submit papers here using MS 365 forms, which has more data privacy protections than Canvas or Google Docs.
